Rihanna and A$AP Rocky are expecting their third child together, with fans wondering whether or not the couple will welcome a third son, or have the daughter they’ve been trying for.
During the global premiere of Smurfs in Brussels, Belgium this week, A$AP Rocky may have accidentally revealed that they will be having a girl, as ET asked him, “Is that the girl you’ve been waiting for?” His response? “It is, man. It is.” He also proclaimed he wanted a family large enough to compare to the Wayans.
Rihanna was also adamant that, regardless of gender, their next child’s name will begin with the letter “R,” just like sons RZA, 3, and Riot Rose, 21 months.
VIBE has compiled a total of 10 unique “R” baby names that we think would be perfect for their next bundle of joy. Assuming it will be a girl thanks to A$AP, eight of the 10 are for girls or unisex. We also added a couple of boy names, just in case the Harlem rapper was actually throwing us off the trail with his response.
Check out the full list below.

GIRL NAMES: Robyn or Rihanna
Image Credit: Kayla Oaddams/WireImage Who says only boys can be juniors?
It would be adorable for our Caribbean queen to name her first daughter after herself. Whether they decide to go with her legal first name, or the middle name that made her famous, Robyn Rihanna Fenty’s mini me also sharing her name would be pretty epic.

Roxanne

Ria

Not only does Ria sound close to the star’s stage name, but is Spanish for “small river” and Greek for “to flow” (just like her rapper father does). Finally, it also has roots in Sanskrit, where it can mean “singer” or “melody” a perfect name for two musicians welcoming their third bundle of joy.

Reign

This name would be a great nod to Riri’s place as one of the Queens of Pop Culture while also reminding us that the couple and their children are industry royalty at this point.

UNISEX NAMES: Reb’l
Image Credit: Slaven Vlasic/Getty Images Rihanna and Rocky clearly love names with personality and a bit of edge, so why not go with one that exemplifies the couple’s rebellious spirit? This unisex option falls right in line with RZA and Riot, and with its unique spelling (inspired by Rihanna’s first fragrance), will stand out amid other cool kids with unconventional names. Add “Fleur” (French for flower) as a middle name to really catch the people’s attention.

Rogue
Image Credit: Marvel Along the same lines as Reb’l, Rogue is another edgy, unisex moniker, though many perceive it to be feminine thanks to the famous X-Men character of the same name.
Animated southern belles aside, Rogue as a name is befitting if you want your child to grow into an independent thinker who is unafraid to look at things unconventionally and walk the unbeaten path, something both Rocky and Rihanna have done to find success.

Rykiel

The name would pay homage to renowned French designer Sonia Rykiel, the “Queen of Knitwear” and influential Parisian designer who was known for her deconstructed looks and unconventional design techniques.
The late designer who rubbed shoulders with Karl Lagerfeld and Kenzo Takada — and directly influenced the likes of Ralph Lauren, Jean Paul Gaultier, and Martin Margiela — passed away in 2016 at the age of 86.

BOY NAMES: Rich
Image Credit: Jose Perez/Bauer-Griffin/GC Images Richard means “powerful leader” or “brave ruler,” which seems fitting for a young man born within the superstar family who could grow up to be just that. The shortened form, Rich, however, feels even more like Rocky and Riri’s taste, as they prefer shorter names that grab attention.
“Rich” not only reflects his born financial status, but could also draw from Harlem legend Rich Porter’s uptown influence, something Rocky may want to consider. It also evokes the spirit of Richie Perez, the civil rights leader and activist who worked within Harlem and his home borough of The Bronx until his death in 2004.

Rucker
Image Credit: Brian Ach/WireImage. The iconic park and basketball court in Harlem is a New York institution and makes us think of the skill and passion required to dominate. We could see A$AP naming his third son after the iconic street ball locale, calling him “Ruck” or “Rock” for short.
