Drake is giving his Young Money boss some competition.
Anyone who remembers Lil Wayne‘s insanely productive late-00s stretch won’t be surprised that the rapper holds a record for most Billboard Hot 100 entries by a solo artist. At the same time, anyone following Drake‘s last few years of dominance won’t be surprised to hear that he’s now tied his friend and collaborator’s record.
Lil Wayne’s record is currently 132, so Drake’s most recent placement puts them in stiff competition. Of course, the way the charts work is constantly changing, and the addition of streams to the way the Hot 100 is determined has worked in Drake’s favor. The fact that many of Wayne’s well-known mixtape tracks were released on free projects and not considered for the chart.
Whichever way you look at it, both Wayne and Drake have dominated the rap game in significant ways over the last decade, and you don’t need to check the numbers to know that.
