ANKARA

At least 61 PKK terrorists were “neutralized” during counter-terrorism operations across Turkey from March 26 to April 2, according to the Interior Ministry on Monday.

In a statement, the ministry said security forces had carried out 1,385 counter-terrorism operations in the past week.

Turkish authorities often use the word “neutralized” in their statements to imply that the terrorists in question either surrendered or were killed or captured.

The ministry specified that 40 of the neutralized terrorists were killed,[tooltip id=”4500c2f113202943ff1ae30d00c9d4ac”] [/tooltip]10 were captured, while 11 more surrendered to authorities.
