Red Lobster has announced new menu items in celebration of its Crabfest and one item in particular has fans divided.
The restaurant chain revealed that seafood boils will now be part of the Crabfest menu for the first time. Customers will be able to choose between the Mariner’s Boil and Sailor’s Boil.
The Mariner’s Boil included Maine lobster tail, a dozen shrimp, snow crab, corn, and red potatoes whereas the Sailor’s Boil is a Louisiana-style combination of shrimp, smoked sausage, corn, and red potatoes. Both options can come in three flavors: Roasted Garlic Butter, Cajun Butter, or Old Bay seasoning.
Though seafood boils are typically a shared experience, Red Lobster’s version aligns with the social media trend of dining solo — and fans have a lot to say. Some are excited while others are skeptical.
“Red Lobster is about to have seafood boil bags, a sangria flight, and $5 drinks. Whew, that new CEO came in the door swinging,” one user wrote. Another tweeted, “Can they keep up with the supply and demand tho- that’s the issue/ cause ain’t nobody paying Red Lobster prices for no rubbery seafood boil.”
The other new menu items are Crabby Stuffed Mushrooms, Crab-Topped Asparagus, Crab-Topped Potato, Steak Oscar, and Salmon Oscar plus limited-edition cocktails like the Purple Haze by Dre & Snoop, Starry Eyed Surprise, and the Passion Star Spritz.
After Red Lobster filed for bankruptcy, the restaurant got a new CEO — 36-year-old Damola Adamolekun. He took over in September 2024 and was known for revitalizing P.F. Chang’s.
