Joe Budden regularly flexes on his fellow podcasters for not making as much money as he does, though the specifics on his finances haven’t been publicized ever since his eponymous podcast parted ways with Spotify in 2020. The 44-year-old personality recently shared how much the JBP makes via Patreon, though he didn’t exactly intend to do so.

The retired rapper recently took to Instagram to show the views that his long-running show accumulates with each episode. What he did not account for was the fact that his revenue was also visible on that page. Through some basic editing, internet users were able to circumvent his attempt to block out the numbers and identify that he was making a little over $900,000 from Patreon subscriptions.

It is important to note that this does not include money made from YouTube or his other advertisements or sponsors. Budden’s Patreon memberships range from $5 to $50, meaning that he has anywhere between 18,000 to 180,000 subscribers.

Doe Boy, during an appearance on The Joe Budden Podcast in 2024, asked the controversial host how much money he made from podcasting. “Altogether in the whole 10 years? About $4 mil,” he answered. “Early on we were doing it for free. Then we hit a little lick, Spotify. Then ni**as left, the building crumbled a little bit. My friends came to save the day. Probably about three and a half to four a half mil.”

Neither the Cleveland rapper nor his co-hosts believed him, which prompted Joe to think a bit more before eventually saying his gross profit before taxes was closer to $7 million. “Years of hard work, y’all can do it too,” he said. “It’s not unachievable. This is not unimaginable. If you work hard and keep your head down to the finish line and just focus on your content.”
