Diddy‘s sex trafficking trial reached the closing statements stage last week, and his lawyer Marc Agnifilo took a contentious approach in advocating for his client. Many people had thoughts about what was said, especially the constant thorn in Puff’s side, 50 Cent.
“Damn they did Diddy dirty them closing statements man, I could have done better [than] that,” he wrote in an Instagram caption accompanying yet another A.I. photo of himself in a suit. “How much he pay them lawyers?” In a now-deleted post, he added, “She didn’t have the worst lawyer, You are the worst lawyer. Remember the name Marc Agnifilo. He just got Diddy a** 20 years.” It is unclear who the “she” is that he was referring to.
The G-Unit leader has been critical of the controversial mogul’s legal representation for some time now. In April, he suggested that the Bad Boy co-founder hire Joe Tacopina, the man who represented A$AP Rocky in his felony assault trial. “If Diddy can get Joe he might beat this case but he gonna have to pay a lot of money, there’s no time to prepare!” Fif wrote on Instagram. Tacopina revealed that the “Last Night” artist did request his services, but he declined.
Agnifilo was reportedly very animated during his closing statement last Thursday (June 26). He highlighted Diddy’s successes and the fact that even if his former employees had issues with how he operated, they loved working for him and did not want to stop due to all he did for them, per Variety.
He also directly called out “Jane,” a woman suing him for sexual assault, and how she is living in a house that he pays for. Agnifilo claimed that Puff was not a sex trafficker, but rather just a “swinger” who participated in threesomes that all parties consented to. In one of the most talked-about parts of his closing statements, he owned up to the 55-year-old’s domestic violence but distinguished that it was not utilized to force his ex-girlfriend Cassie into his “freak-offs.”
