Vin Diesel has sparked a wave of speculation and excitement among Fast & Furious fans after teasing the possible return of Paul Walker’s beloved character, Brian O’Conner, in the franchise’s upcoming finale.

During an appearance at Fuel Fest in Pomona, California, on Saturday (June 28), Diesel stood alongside co-stars Tyrese Gibson and Cody Walker—the late actor’s brother—and addressed his involvement in Fast & Furious 11, currently slated for release in April 2027.

Diesel revealed that his return to the eleventh installment of the blockbuster series came with a few non-negotiable conditions—one of which was directly tied to Paul Walker’s iconic role.

“The studio said to me, ‘Vin, can we please have the finale of Fast and Furious [in] April 2027?’” Diesel recounted.

“I said, ‘Under three conditions.’ First, is to bring the franchise back to L.A.! The second thing was to return to the car culture, to the street racing! The third thing was reuniting Dom and Brian O’Conner.”

Walker tragically passed away in a car accident in 2013, and his character was given a heartfelt farewell in Furious 7, which premiered in 2015.

Since then, the franchise has carefully honored his memory while continuing the story. His character has remained alive in the film universe but largely off-screen.

With Diesel’s statement, fans are now wondering if the final chapter will feature a digital re-creation of Brian or some other tribute—possibly involving Cody Walker, who helped complete Furious 7 following his brother’s death.

The franchise’s previous film, Fast X, premiered in May 2023 and grossed over $700 million worldwide. As anticipation builds for the 2027 finale, Diesel’s remarks have reignited emotional connections to the franchise’s legacy—and to the enduring bond between Dominic Toretto and Brian O’Conner.
