Nollywood actress Regina Chukwu has called out her colleagues for campaigning for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the Lagos local government elections, slamming their public display of support amid Nigeria’s worsening economic and security crisis.
In a strongly worded reaction posted on Instagram, Regina criticized actresses Foluke Daramola, Sola Kosoko, and others who were seen in a viral video participating in the APC Greater Kosofe Mega Rally.
The stars, dressed in party regalia, had been canvassing support for the APC candidates—a move that sparked mixed reactions online.
Regina, upset by the video, questioned how celebrities could align with a party in power while many Nigerians suffer under harsh economic conditions.
Referring to the insecurity plaguing the country, she stated, “If dem never kpai one of una, una no go rest,” implying that it might take a personal tragedy before some of her colleagues realize the consequences of their political endorsements.

Her comments sparked intense conversations on social media, as many Nigerians echoed her sentiments. Critics argue that entertainers supporting a ruling party currently associated with widespread poverty, inflation, fuel hardship, and joblessness, appear tone-deaf and disconnected from everyday citizens.
Meanwhile, supporters of the celebrities in question maintain that they have a constitutional right to support any party of their choice.
They argue that involvement in politics, especially at the local government level, should be encouraged across all sectors, including entertainment.
