Controversial Nollywood actor turned self-proclaimed prophet and traditionalist, Yul Edochie, is back in the spotlight after making a bold statement about his faith. In a fresh post shared on social media, Yul addressed those who have been criticizing his blend of Christian and traditional worship, making it clear that he doesn’t see it as serving multiple gods.

Being a Christian and a Traditionalist doesn’t mean you’re serving 2 Gods. No. It means you’re serving the same God in 2 different ways,” he wrote, alongside a bold graphic of himself dressed in traditional attire, red cap with feather and chalk under his eye.

The photo was placed on the banner of his self-founded True Gospel and Eternal Salvation Ministry.

This latest post is the actor’s latest attempt to explain his unusual spiritual path, one that has raised plenty of eyebrows over the past year.

Back in March, Yul claimed that God told him to return to his ancestral roots and embrace traditional spirituality. According to him, this divine instruction led him to feel spiritually complete.

Shortly after, he launched his own ministry and declared that he had been called to “lead his people back to their traditional ways.”

Naturally, this has divided fans and critics alike. Some accuse him of confusion and attention-seeking, while others applaud him for being bold enough to challenge mainstream religious norms.

Yul, who has been a magnet for controversy since his highly publicized split from wife May Edochie and his decision to take a second wife, seems unbothered by the backlash. Instead, he’s doubling down with scripture, tradition, and camera-ready confidence.

In other news, Nigerian singer Oyinkansola Aderibigbe popularly known as Ayra Starr is in her “Sabi Girl” era, and the numbers are backing it up!

The music sensation just became the first African female artist to hit 5 million followers on Spotify. This is a major milestone that cements her as one of the continent’s most influential streaming powerhouses.
