The drama surrounding legendary Nigerian singer 2Baba (Innocent Idibia) seems to be deepening by the day, and it’s not just fans who are worried. Now, some of his peers and public figures have begun to openly express concern about the singer’s well-being and recent behavioural patterns.
In a recent Instagram video, controversial media personality Daddy Freeze didn’t hold back. Comparing the iconic musician to a luxury car that’s now losing value, Freeze said:
“2Baba is depreciating; he’s going from a Bentley to a Corolla. Annie is evolving into a Queen, but can we say the same for 2Baba? He’s suddenly becoming RadioGad, and there’s a tendency he may evolve into a puppet.”
He also compared the singer to Annie Idibia, the long-suffering wife who has stood by 2Baba through years of controversies. While her husband battles public perception, Annie appears to be thriving. She shares glowing photos, lands new deals, and is being celebrated online as a resilient woman who has evolved beautifully despite everything. A deep contrast to 2Baba.
Freeze’s comment comes after 2Baba made headlines with his now-infamous take on monogamy, during an appearance on Nedu’s podcast. The singer boldly declared that no man is “wired” to be sexually committed to just one woman, sparking widespread backlash across social media.
Shortly after the storm broke, 2Baba appeared in a now-viral Instagram video, looking visibly emotional as he backtracked on his earlier comments. He apologised profusely to his wife Natasha, his children, fans, and the public at large. He admitted:
“I messed up. That’s not who I am. I apologize to my wife, Natasha, the love of my life.”
However, his apology only fueled the fire, as many fans and observers began speculating about deeper issues in his personal life.

Even more telling was the reaction from 2Baba’s brother, Charles Idibia, who dropped a bombshell of his own. In a lengthy comment, Charles alleged that his brother had been metaphorically thrown “from the frying pan into an industrial furnace.”
He pointed fingers at 2Baba’s partner Natasha, accusing her of manipulating and controlling the singer. Charles urged his brother to snap out of it, calling him a strategic thinker who needs to “step away from the chessboard.”
As if that wasn’t enough, outspoken singer Cynthia Morgan also chimed in, cautioning Natasha against trying to “purge” a man like 2Baba into monogamy overnight.
“You can’t change a man like 2Baba overnight. This isn’t a joke. That man needs prayers. Is he even a Christian, let alone a church leader?” she asked.
Popular OAP Do2dtun also didn’t mince words. He described 2Baba’s apology video as disturbing, noting that the singer is not one to engage in public explanations unless something is seriously wrong. Do2dtun suggested that the icon might be under pressure or emotional manipulation, stating:
“Someone is milking him and forcing him to be who he isn’t. 2Baba doesn’t move like this.”
Online, reactions have been mixed. While some believe 2Baba is genuinely trying to right his wrongs and mature as a partner, others feel he is clearly not himself and may be spiraling under pressure, possibly from personal relationships or public expectation.
