Veteran Nollywood actress and activist Hilda Dokubo has publicly criticized the Rivers State Sole Administrator, Retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, over the state’s proposed 2025 budget of ₦1.485 trillion, calling the figure questionable and accusing the administrator of lacking transparency.
Dokubo, a well-known voice in both Nigeria’s entertainment and political spaces, took to Instagram to express her frustration in a video that has since sparked widespread reactions online.
The actress can be heard addressing the budget announcement directly, saying:
“Leave our money alone, Oga! Enough is enough with all the gaffing around”
Dokubo, who hails from Rivers State and has long advocated for good governance and accountability, emphasized that the people of Rivers deserve transparency in how their resources are allocated.

Her comments reflect a broader concern among citizens, many of whom are demanding clarity and justification for such a hefty state budget in the face of developmental deficits and rising economic hardship.
The ₦1.485 trillion 2025 budget is one of the largest ever proposed by the state, and its approval has been met with suspicion due to the circumstances surrounding the sole administrator’s appointment and the absence of a functioning state House of Assembly to scrutinize the figures.
Critics argue that the lack of legislative oversight undermines democratic processes and opens the door for misappropriation.
The appointment of a Sole Administrator to oversee the state’s affairs while Governor Fubara remains politically suspended has been viewed by observers as a constitutional grey area
The governor, though not officially removed, has seen his executive powers significantly weakened, creating a vacuum that has allowed decisions such as this budget signing to go uncontested.
