Veteran Nollywood actor Akin Olaiya has been thrust into fresh controversy after his first wife granted a tell-all interview, days after reports of his recent marriage to a new wife surfaced online.
In the emotionally charged conversation with renowned broadcaster Dr. Esabod, Akin Olaiya’s ex-wife unveiled never-before-heard revelations about her marriage, their sudden split, and her ex-husband’s alleged secret relationship with popular Yoruba actress Rukayat Lawal aka Iyabadan Sneh.
The woman, who chose to speak publicly for the first time, disclosed that she married the actor in 2016, at the age of 20, while Olaiya was 35.
She recounted how their wedding was conducted in unusual circumstances, claiming that the actor told her he had no ties with his biological family, which led to his senior Nollywood colleagues standing in as groom’s parents during the marriage ceremony.
She further stunned listeners when she alleged that Akin Olaiya had privately confessed to her that Iyabadan Sneh has a child for him. The claim comes just days after speculation online linked the content creator to the actor in what fans initially brushed off as unfounded rumor.
“Akin Olaiya and I got married in 2016. I was 20, he was 35. He told me he didn’t have a relationship with his family, so his senior colleagues acted as his parents. He also confessed to me that Iyabadan Sneh has a child for him,” she said during the interview.
The allegations add a dramatic twist to recent headlines about the actor, who reportedly got married again days before the interview aired.
