Pusha T shares his honest opinion on the year’s biggest rap beef, which looped him into the chaos. Speaking with Ari Melber at Miami Art Week during the Saint & Citizen Presents: Saint Sessions Live at The Temple House last Saturday (Dec. 7), the Virginia native revealed his candid thoughts on the feud between Kendrick Lamar and Drake.

“I guess he was just telling him he needed to address me before he comes back and tries to go at him,” the Clipse rhymer said of the Compton chart-topper’s “Euphoria” diss against Drake.

In the song, Kendrick Lamar exclaims, “I don’t like you poppin’ sh*t at Pharrell, for him, I inherit the beef/Yeah, f**k all that pushin’ P, let me see you push a T/ You better off spinnin’ again on him, you think about pushin’ me/ He’s Terrence Thornton, I’m Terence Crawford, yeah, I’m whoopin’ feet,” referencing Pusha T’s own lyrical sparring match with the Toronto superstar.

While speaking in Miami, the “Neck & Wrist” rapper also championed Kendrick Lamar’s overall skills.

“I think that Kendrick is a lyricist and a lyricist that talks to your soul. You can be clever, you can say cute things, you can do things in cadences and so on and so forth, but the truth really hurts and the truth cuts deep.”

He continued to elaborate on his reaction to Drake’s legal filings against Universal Music Group, alleging the music corporation participated in unethical practices to ensure Kendrick Lamar’s chart-topping diss “Not Like Us,” became a smash hit.

“I think what Kendrick was doing was really talking to his soul. I believe that would cause you to tap out, that would cause you to sue, that would cause you to do a lot of things. It’s crazy.”

This is not the first time the “Drug Dealers Anonymous” rapper spoke about being name-dropped in “Euphoria.” Earlier this year, he and his brother Malice (formerly No Malice) gave Kendrick Lamar praise for the acclaimed track.

“Incredible. Incredible display. Incredible display of battle raps. Listen, man, Kendrick …” shared Pusha T with his brother interjecting, calling “Euphoria” a “masterclass.”
