Fans anticipating new music from Lil Baby and Gunna will only have their past work to fill the void for now. Speaking with Charlamagne Tha God on his Out Of Context series, in a clip shared on Thursday (Dec. 19), Lil Baby explained that he and Gunna are no longer on good terms.

“We don’t got no relationship,” answered the Atlanta rapper when the media personality asked him about his connection with Gunna. He continued to explain to The Breakfast Club host that he does not need Gunna for hits despite online commentary, adding, “The internet will say anything. Do you know how many hits I got? So, that don’t even make sense.”

The “BAND4BAND” rapper continued to clarify that he is not willing to work with Gunna, even at Young Thug’s request, declaring, “I don’t see that happening.” Lil Baby and Gunna have many collaborations including the 2018 Drip Harder mixtape and several songs, notably the Diamond-certified “Drip Too Hard.”

Earlier this week, Lil Baby also spoke with Lil Yachty on his A Safe Place Podcast and although he did not mention Gunna by name, he alluded to being more selective in collaborations and working with alleged snitches.

“I always rapped about that type of stuff. Im a rap about it. [In] my first song, I’m talking about snitching. It’s a permanent thing. Now, it’s just got outrageous with it. Those kind of morals and sh*t are never going to leave… It boils down to what we rapping about… We can’t rap about that if you did that… If I was making Christmas music, then I don’t give a damn what you did.”

He continued, “I don’t even speak on n**gas. Even if it was in the streets, you wouldn’t go put up posters saying he’s a snitch. That ain’t how it go. And, thats the downfall for it all. Whether people know it or not, rapping in these songs, talking about murders, and who you killed. That sh*t f**king up the whole program. It’s not only f**king up the Hip-Hop business, it’s f**king up the way of living for rappers.”

Rumors that Gunna is a “snitch” began in December 2022 after the rapper took a deal and was released from prison following his inclusion in the YSL Rico case. After entering an Alford plea, the “P Power” performer was initially sentenced to five years in prison with one year served. The presiding judge commuted the rapper’s sentence to time served and suspended the remaining four years on conditions that included Gunna completing 500 hours of community service.

“I have chosen to end my own RICO case with an Alford plea and end my personal ordeal by publicly acknowledging my association with YSL,” he shared in a written statement at the time. “An Alford plea in my case is the entry of a guilty plea to the one charge against me, which is in my best interest, while at the same time maintaining my innocence toward the same charge.”

In his first record after the ordeal released in June 2023, fans speculated that the 31-year-old responded to Lil Durk and Lil Baby after many in the Hip-Hop community distanced themselves or outright labeled him a snitch.

In “Bread & Butter” he rhymes, “Peepin’ sh*t, I’m seein’ ni**as fall back/ You bi**h-a** ni**as got me as the topic of the chat,” continuing, “You switched on me when you know you in business with a rat/ And the boy that’s like your brother, and nobody speak on that.”
