Multiple gunmen opened fire outside of Queens, NY’s Amazura nightclub, leaving 11 people wounded. According to NBC 4 New York, the attack happened on New Year’s Day (Jan. 1) outside of a private event held at the club on 144th Street.

The outlet reports that “three to four” gunmen unloaded on a group of six females and four males, hitting all of them and leading to varying degrees of injuries. Police alerted the authorities that the victims are expected to make full recoveries. Law enforcement has also stated that they have opened an investigation into the shooting to inquire whether the act was gang-related.

The outlet reports that police were phoned shortly after 11 PM on NYE, stating that there had been a shooting at the club. With Amazura at full capacity, there were allegedly 15 people outside of the club waiting to be let in to ring in 2025.

Suddenly, three to four males aged in their late teens to early 20s made their way towards the line of people and opened fire on them, letting around 30 shots, resulting in 10 people being shot. As of Thursday (Jan 2), no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting. And while the NYPD Chief of Patrol, Philip Rivera, called out the “senseless shooting” in a statement, he asserted that the attack wasn’t “an act of terrorism.”

“There’s zero tolerance for these senseless shootings,” Rivera said. “These horrible acts of violence on our streets, and those responsible for this crime, will be apprehended and brought to justice.”

In other horrific news, a 42-year-old man drove his pickup truck into a crowd of people celebrating the New Year on New Orleans’ famous Bourbon Street. This incident was labeled as a terrorist attack by local authorities in Louisiana, leaving 15 people dead while injuring a dozen more.

The suspect, identified as Shamsud-Din Jabbar, was an army veteran from Texas who had been allegedly “radicalized” by ISIS in the “last couple of years,” per ABC. Police killed Jabbar at the scene.

Law enforcement officers from multiple agencies work the scene on Bourbon Street after at least ten people were killed when a person allegedly drove into the crowd in the early morning hours of New Year’s Day on January 1, 2025 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dozens more were injured after a suspect in a rented pickup truck allegedly drove around barricades and through a crowd of New Year’s revelers on Bourbon Street. The suspect then got out of the car, opened fire on police officers, and was subsequently killed by law enforcement.
