  • Nigerian singer Odumodublvck has addressed circumstances surrounding his stage collapse incident in December 2024.
  • The rapper in a recent interview revealed that despite being a scary situation, he didn’t panic.
  • Odumodublvck thankfully disclosed that no one died and spoke on those in charge of mounting the stage.

Nigerian singer cum rapper Tochukwu Gbubemi Ojogwu, popularly known as Odumodublvck has spoken about the sudden collapse of the stage during his performance at the Nativeland Festival on December 21, 2024, assuring fans that he remained calm throughout the incident.

In an interview with HIPTV, Odumodublvck reflected on the chaotic event, emphasising his unshaken faith. He said:

“For some reason, I wasn’t scared and I didn’t panic because God is always in me and for some reason, I didn’t panic at all.”

The 31-year-old also highlighted the complexities involved in organising large-scale events, noting that mishaps like the stage collapse should not be blamed on a single entity. Odumodublvck explained:

“Situations like that can be avoided, and I think the company that hosted the show, which is Native, released a statement that they’re carrying out investigations with the stage and production company.

“People don’t know things like this. When they say come and do shows, there’s a production company, light people, sound people and security.”

He further clarified:

“People think it’s just one person, but it’s good to educate people that there are different factions of this thing to put up a show.

“You can’t really point fingers at one person or everyone for one person’s mistake. All in all, we thank God nobody died, and the casualties have been taken care of to the best of my knowledge.”

The festival, featuring acts such as Central Cee, Bloody Civilian, Ayanfe, DJ Tunez and Zerrydl alongside Odumodublvck, drew an enthusiastic audience.

However, the event took a dramatic turn when the stage gave way mid-performance, causing panic among attendees and a wave of reactions online.
