In 2024, The Rock returned to the WWE and declared that “wrestling is cool again.” At the time, he said it more to validate himself and his presence in the company under his villainous “Final Boss” character, but there was some merit to his statement.

Fast forward a little under a year later, and the WWE has partnered with Netflix to broadcast Monday Night Raw for the foreseeable future. They celebrated the momentous occasion on Monday evening (Jan. 6) by hosting the debut show at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, Calif., and the stars came out in droves. Notable attendees included Travis Scott, who briefly played his 2023 hit “Fe!n” before accompanying WWE superstar Jey Uso during his entrance, Danielle Fishel (Topanga) and Will Friedle (Eric Matthews) from Boy Meets World, Vanessa Hudgens and more.

Before the show began, WWE and Netflix hosted a reception that included a red carpet, complimentary food and beverages, a wrestling-ring-themed step-and-repeat, DJ, and more. There, big names like Wale, Blxst, Tiffany Haddish, Lil Rel Howery, Khleo Thomas, O’Shea Jackson, and more gathered for photos and community all in the name of loving professional wrestling. For those who view the “Attitude Era” of the 1990s with rose-colored glasses, make no mistake about it: The WWE is more infused in mainstream pop culture than ever before.
