  • Amid the ongoing feud between socialite Cubana Chief Priest and Burna Boy, Cynthia Morgan has shared her thoughts on it.
  • Taking to social media, the singer recalled how she was begged to collect lesser than she charges for her show some years ago but it was later used against her.
  • This is after Cubana Chief Priest claimed to have paid Burna Boy the sum of N1 million to perform some years ago.

Nigerian dancehall artiste Cynthia Morgan, now known as Madrina, has weighed in on industry dynamics following the public fallout between nightlife promoter Cubana Chief Priest and Afrobeat superstar Damini Ogulu, also known as Burna Boy.

On Saturday, January 4, Pascal Okechukwu better known as Cubana Chief Priest recalled paying Burna Boy ₦1 million to perform as a backup artiste at his birthday party in 2018.

He also shared a video of Burna Boy requesting a slice of cake at the event, to seemingly humiliate him.

This follows their recent online clash, where Burna Boy subtly shaded Cubana Chief Priest by referring to him as the “Owerri Rick Ross”, in a post shared on his Instagram story.

Taking to social media to react to the dragging back and forth, Madrina shared a personal experience from 2018, when she was paid ₦1 million for a show, only to face false allegations later.

According to the singer, claims emerged that she had made advances toward the event organizers and was stalking them.

Drawing from her experience, Madrina urged her colleagues in the music industry to stop undervaluing their talents and accepting low fees for performances. She wrote:

“Make artiste no dey collect beggy beggy show again. Na so Maleke beg me to pay me ₦1 million for show for 2018. They later say na I toast them, say I even dey stalk them. Crãzy world.”
