Drake has, apparently, been “ducking” the opportunity to headline the Rolling Loud festival for years. In a new interview with legendary radio host Big Boy, the festival’s co-founder, Tariq Cherif, insisted that they have been trying to get Drizzy to headline one of his RL iterations over the years but to no luck. Cherif clarified that he has no issues or beef with the Canadian man but that he is convinced that the superstar has been “ducking” the festival for unknown reasons.
“I’ll say it, I don’t care. I feel like Drake’s ducking us,” he claimed. “I got no beef with Drake. I like Drake, I feel like he’s a great artist. We’ve been trying to book him forever. We even offered Drake three nights of Drake… he’d be the headliner for three nights.”
As the co-founder continued, he claimed that the three-night headliner was a unique offer, but another festival appears to be trying to get Drake to agree to a similar deal.
Elsewhere in Drake-related news, the Her Loss rapper was recently named the best-selling rapper of 2024. Chart Data posted the statistics on X/Twitter, reporting that Aubrey Graham was the best-selling total album units, with 8 million sold. 2024 marks Drake’s tenth consecutive year as Hip-Hop’s best-selling artist and, fascinatingly enough, the artist did it without dropping an album.
Instead, Drizzy found himself embroiled in a heated battle with Kendrick Lamar, where the Toronto native released diss tracks such as “Family Matters,” “Push-Ups,” the infamous AI-driven debacle in “Taylor Made Freestyle.” Graham also released other tracks in the aftermath of the battle, but most of them were overshadowed by the high-profile feud with Lamar.
