Tyla Lights Up Pretoria: A Sold-Out Spectacle at SunBet Arena

On January 18, 2025, the SunBet Arena in Pretoria, South Africa, was the epicentre of musical brilliance as Grammy-winning Amapiano sensation Tyla delivered a mesmerising performance to a sold-out crowd of 10,000 fans. The anticipation was palpable, and as soon as the doors flung open at the 10,000-capacity SunBet Arena, fans surged in with the speed of light, eager to witness the South African star’s homecoming performance.

This wasn’t just another stop on a tour; it was a landmark moment for South African and African entertainment. Showmax made history by becoming the first streaming service (SVOD) in Africa to exclusively live stream a homegrown concert, bringing Tyla’s electrifying performance to fans across 44 African countries.

The night drew a diverse crowd, including notable figures like South African Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture, Gaston Mckenzie. His presence emphasizing the cultural significance of Tyla’s performance and the growing recognition of the cultural landscape of Amapiano within South Africa and abroad.

Following the exhilarating concert, an official after-party was held at The Beach in Rivonia, allowing fans and attendees a chance to continue the celebration and mingle in a more relaxed setting.
