Central Cee Explains Why Drake Wasn’t On ‘Can’t Rush Greatness’

Central Cee has worked hard to get himself to the brink of stardom, but, like many artists, he received a boost from Drake along the way. However, the 26-year-old artist recently explained why he liked the fact that the Toronto superstar wasn’t featured on his debut album Can’t Rush Greatness.

The London rapper appeared on the Dutch radio station FunX and was asked about his feelings toward people expecting the 6 God to be on his new LP, especially after they linked up for an On The Radar freestyle in 2023. “I’m sure there’s a Drake record in the vault,” he said. “But it seemed like it was predictable. I think everybody was thinking that there’s gonna be a Drake record on there. So I like the fact that there wasn’t.”

He confirmed that they have worked on music together, but he is saving it.

When, and if, that record will come remains to be seen. The duo will presumably be looking to outdo the success of their On The Radar freestyle, which peaked at No. 80 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned Cench his first appearance on the long-running chart.

Until then, Central Cee has already made a big splash without the Drake boost with his debut album Can’t Rush Greatness. As of now, it has the most streams for a rap album on its release day, which is noteworthy since Lil Baby released WHAM weeks ago. CRG is projected to sell 30,000 album-equivalent units in its first week and reach the top 10 of the Billboard 200.

The 17-song album featured Lil Baby, 21 Savage, Lil Durk, Young Miko, Skepta, and Dave. He has shared visuals for the tracks “Truth In The Lies,” “Limitless,” “GBP,” and “BAND4BAND.” Check out Central Cee’s new album Can’t Rush Greatness below.
