Controversial rapper Darlington Okoye, better known as Speed Darlington, has revealed that he has been arrested 19 times.

He also disclosed that he has been detained five times.

The ‘Bangdadadang’ crooner made this known in a freestyle video shared via his social media page. He rapped:

“5 lockups, 19 arrests, I get game but I no dey hear, when you hear this one, na Kuje,”

The controversial figure was initially arrested by the police in October 2024 after Burna Boy filed a petition against him with the police. Burna’s petition followed Speed Darlington’s suggestive comments about the “Ye” singer’s affiliation with embattled hip-hop mogul, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs.

He was then re-arrested on November 27, 2024, while performing at a show in Owerri, Imo State, on the accusations of cyberstalking Burna Boy.

Speed Darlington was consequently detained in Kuje prison for almost two months before being admitted to twenty million naira (20,000,000) bail by a federal high court in Abuja, before being released.

Days after his release, Speed Darlington alleged on social media that he narrowly escaped assassination on his way from a club in Lagos.

His lawyer, Stan Alieke, announced that he and his law firm had cut ties with the rapper in the wake of the assassination attempt allegations.

A week after his release from police custody, Speed Darlington berated those giving him unsolicited advice.

The singer also cut ties with his lawyer and his fans who advised him against going up against fellow singer, Burna Boy.

Taking to his Instagram page, the controversial musician asked those supporting him to get lost if they are tired of seeing him through his woes.
