Social media commentator and activist, Vincent Martins Otse, also known as Verydarkman, has weighed in on the ongoing drama between gospel singer Mercy Chinwo-Blessed and her former record label boss, EeZee Tee.
After hearing Mercy Chinwo’s side of the story, Verydarkman concluded that she is not being truthful and is instead using emotional manipulation to sway public opinion.
As someone who has been involved in the church for over a decade and is familiar with the gospel music scene, Verydarkman claims that he can see through Mercy Chinwo’s tactics.
According to Verydarkman, the video released by Mercy Chinwo was heavily edited, with about 15 cuts and joins, which suggests that she was not being sincere in her presentation.
He argued that the real issue at the heart of the drama is the ownership of Mercy Chinwo’s music catalog, which is currently in the possession of her former record label, EeZee Conceptz.
Verydarkman notes that this is a standard practice in the music industry, where record labels retain ownership of an artist’s work.
Verydarkman also questioned Mercy Chinwo’s claim that EeZee Tee forged their contract document, suggesting that any corrections made to the document were done with the knowledge and presence of both parties.
Furthermore, he has asked Mercy Chinwo to provide proof of her allegation that EeZee Tee paid bloggers to spread rumors about her child’s resemblance to another gospel singer, Nathaniel Bassey.
Verydarkman wondered why Mercy Chinwo waited until the drama with EeZee Tee became public before speaking out about the issue.
Additionally, Verydarkman criticized Mercy Chinwo for mentioning Pastor Jerry Eze, the convener of the New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declarations (NSPPD), in her video.
He affirmed that Mercy Chinwo knows that Pastor Eze has a large following and is trying to use this to her advantage by suggesting that EeZee Tee has a grudge against the pastor.
By doing so, Verydarkman claims that Mercy Chinwo is attempting to garner support from Pastor Eze’s followers and turn them against EeZee Tee.
