Super Bowl LIX kicks off on Sunday (Feb. 9), and members of the Kansas City Chiefs have expressed excitement for a high-profile ticketholder. According to The Guardian, Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce welcome President Donald Trump to enjoy the big game. If he actually attends, Trump will become the first sitting president to attend the Super Bowl.
During a press conference, the 3x champion quarterback was informed that Trump had commented on his skills, applauding his talent on the field. According to the outlet, his mother and wife, Brittany, have both publicly expressed support for Trump.
“It’s always cool to be able to play in front of a sitting president, someone that is in the top position in our country,” shared Mahomes. “I didn’t see that clip but it’s cool to hear that he’s seen me play football and respects the game that I play.”

Kelce shared similar sentiments when asked about his thoughts on the Commander-in-Chief possibly being in the audience.
“That’s awesome. It’s a great honor,” shared the tight end. “I think, you know, no matter who the president is, I know I’m excited because it’s the biggest game of my life, you know, and having the president there, you know, it’s the best country in the world. So, that’d be pretty cool.”

In the opposite endzone, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has a different opinion. When asked if there was added pressure due to Trump’s attendance, he simply answered “No ma’am,” in a clip shared on Instagram by GQ Sports.
Super Bowl LIX between the Chiefs and the Eagles takes place at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. Per ESPN, it marks the fifth Super Bowl in six years for the Chiefs, and a win would make them the first team to win three consecutive Super Bowls. Kendrick Lamar and SZA will perform the anticipated halftime show.
