  • In a dramatic plea, he has turned to the federal government, begging for intervention as the walls close in around him.

Street-hop sensation Portable has made a dramatic appeal to President Bola Tinubu, pleaded for intervention as he faces mounting legal battles with the Ogun State government.

The singer’s troubles erupted after he allegedly assaulted officials from the Ogun State Planning and Development Permit Authority (OGPDPA).

The officials had attempted to seal his bar, cited lack of approved permits and insufficient air space, but the situation spiraled into chaos when Portable and his crew violently resisted.

The altercation triggered a crackdown, leading to the arrest and arraignment of nine of Portable’s associates on serious charges, including armed violence, felony, obstruction, assault, and intent to kill. With authorities placing him on the wanted list, the singer fled, plunging himself into deeper trouble.

Now a fugitive, Portable has surfaced online, singing and expressing remorse from his hiding spot.

In a series of emotional Instagram stories, the controversial artist pleaded with Tinubu and Ogun Governor Dapo Abiodun, urging them to forgive him and release his detained associates.

After God na government. President Tinubu, you will not weep over your children. Help me beg Dapo Abiodun to forgive me,” he sang.

The Ogun government earlier described the attack on its officials as “bizarre and a disgrace to the state”.

It also referred to Portable “as serial dissident and unrepentant rascal who has been in the habit of assaulting government officials without provocation”.

Abiodun condemned the singer’s actions and declared that anyone found culpable “would be punished according to the law”.
