Building on the momentum of his breakout hit “Arike,” Nigerian singer-songwriter Kunmie has unveiled his debut project, a surprise four-track EP titled “Before We Became Strangers.” The EP, released across all major streaming platforms, marks a significant step for the breakout, fast rising artist.

This release follows the success of his chart-topping single “Arike,” which showcased his heartfelt lyrics and smooth vocals. Kunmie’s strategic move to capitalize on the success of “Arike” appears to be paying off. Just eight hours after its release, “Before We Became Strangers” debuted at No. 55 on the Nigerian Apple Albums chart.

The EP, “Before We Became Strangers,” offers listeners a concise yet compelling introduction to Kunmie’s artistic vision. On the EP he continues to explore themes similar to his debut single, taking listeners on a sonic direction as earlier showcased on “Arike”.

As he seeks to find a stronger footing in the music industry, this surprise project demonstrates Kunmie’s proactive approach to his burgeoning career, leveraging the popularity of his chart-topping single to introduce a broader body of work.
