Tekashi 6ix9ine is one of the most controversial rap figures of the last almost decade. The 28-year-old rapper recently claimed that the feds put him in an uncomfortable situation for an extended period while raiding his home.

The Brooklyn rapper told TMZ that the police and federal agents entered his home at 9 a.m. on Wednesday (March 12) and kept him in handcuffs until 3 p.m. while they seized drugs and guns. The “Fefe” rapper was serving his house arrest sentence in his Florida mansion and said officers took DNA samples from him to see if they match DNA found on the guns and drugs.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that their narcotics squad joined forces with federal probation officers to conduct the search. 6ix9ine said that he hadn’t done anything wrong to warrant the raid, and TMZ confirmed that he was not taken into custody, as there was no probable cause to do so at the time.

Tekashi 6ix9ine’s house arrest sentence was part of a series of punishments he received this past November for violating the terms of his probation, specifically, failing drug tests and traveling without permission. He was ordered to serve 45 days in prison, followed by a 30-day house incarceration period, 30 days of home detention, and 30 days of home curfew.

This all stems from his 2019 trial, where he pled guilty to being a member of the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods and conspiring to commit violence. The controversial rapper was handed a two-year prison sentence but was let out in April 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and his medical conditions. 6ix9ine also has pending litigation in the Dominican Republic for charges of battery, domestic violence, and failure to appear in court.

Through all of his legal issues, he has been very active on the music front. In 2024, he released his album Blackballed, which featured Kodak Black, Ben Al Tavori, and more. He also appeared on several features. Listen to Blackballed below.
