Even though Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert finalized their divorce way back on June 27, 2024, the legal battle between the former “Sexiest Couple On Earth” is far from over.
According to TMZ Hip Hop, the 34-year-old actress, singer and creative director is demanding that the judge in their case hold Shumpert in contempt of court for leaking sealed details of their divorce assets to the media. This charge could see the “Dancing with Stars” champ sentenced with jail-time of up to 20 days behind bars.
According to legal docs obtained by the outlet, the spilled news concerned the division of marital assets. Reportedly, the singer was awarded four properties to Shumpert’s three with Taylor’s share including a tour bus and a Maybach she purchased after Shumpert “crashed, totaled, and abandoned her Rolls Royce without replacing it.”

The former couple, who split after 6 years of marriage, share two daughters: 9-year-old Junie and 4-year-old Rue, whom Shumpert reportedly supports at $8,000 a month. Previously, it had been reported that Taylor would keep sole ownership of her companies “Taylormade” and “The Aunties.” Shumpert, the NBA champ and now reality star, was ordered to pay a “one-time seven figure payment” to Taylor, and retained his portion of investments in unnamed joint business ventures.
Despite the legal whirlwind, it appears Taylor is still open to dating again as she and actor Aaron Pierre turned heads at the star-studded 2025 Oscars and Vanity Fair afterparty earlier this month.
“Oscar night in black & white, no grey area. [white heart],” Taylor captioned the post that exuded undeniable chemistry, soundtracked by SZA’s “Take You Down.” Pierre shared the same images and not another word.
