Lizzo shared details behind her lifestyle change and subsequent weight loss, speaking to fans on TikTok. In the live broadcast clip, the Grammy winner explained how she not only dropped her body mass index by more than 10 points, but she also lost 16 percent of her body fat.

“I do something sweet. It’s gotta be with some sort of like carb. I’ll have like almond butter and toast. So, everybody’s body is different. Find out what works for you,” she explained her habit of avoiding “sugary” foods in the morning according to PEOPLE. She added that the process that “works across the board, science-wise, is calories in versus calories out.”

“That’s just how the human body works,” exclaimed the 36-year-old.

In the clip, the “Good As Hell” performer also detailed how she “had to start applying a calorie deficit, because I was prone to binging.”

“I’ve been working to get my anxiety under control for years. And then I decided that I want to release and I’m ready to stop waiting to be myself like fully and be happy,” exclaimed the soon-to-be feature actress. “And I meditated. I calmed myself down. And I isolated a little bit, but not like made myself lonely, not the way I used to when I was depressed. I isolated myself in a mindful way where I had no distractions.”

“I loved to distract myself with people. I loved to distract myself with food. I loved to distract myself with drinking. I loved to distract myself with problems that I would create. I would love to do that,” continued Lizzo. “And I just focused on me.”

Earlier this year, the singer discussed “body positivity” as she continues her journey.

“The body positivity movement was very political and it got taken and kind of commercialized — and now body positivity to people is code word for fat,” Lizzo explained.

“So they’re like, ‘Oh she’s not body-positive anymore.’ I’m not fat anymore. But I’m still body positive because the body positive movement was actually created by a sub-group of people who were not put in the media, who were not praised, who were told we shouldn’t exist and we weren’t good enough because our bodies were bigger or disabled or even queer and trans people.”
