DDG Celebrates ‘Blame The Chat’ Album With Hollywood Release Party

DDG‘s Blame The Chat album has finally arrived. The Michigan native opted for an innovative creative process, incorporating fan opinions and crafting most of the work on a livestream. The unique effort resulted in a 16-track album featuring Wiz Khalifa, Shenseea, Queen Naija, Ty Dolla $ign, BIA, Skilla Baby, Offset, Rob49, and more.

“I hope they know that they make the most impact in the music. They’re more important than the artists,” DDG remarked to VIBE of what he hoped new and old fans alike are able to take from the album, last Friday (May 2) at the Blame The Chat official release at the Neuehouse rooftop in Hollywood, California. “I feel like we’re changing the music industry. I feel like every artist is going to start realizing that the fans need to pick what they want to listen to.”

He continued, “If this works, which I feel like it is, this is going to be a recurring thing for all my projects.”

In true DDG fashion, the event was livestreamed for those unable to attend to catch the intimate turn-up in real-time. Attendees, including VIBE and Leon Thomas, toasted the night away with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres as DDG took the stage and performed the album, with a special appearance from his nephew Woo Wop.

Guests were encouraged to network and make new connections, welcoming an inviting energy that was maintained by DDG, who made sure to interact with the lively crowd. Additionally,  attendees were also able to leave with Blame The Chat t-shirts as the night ended.
