Ye, the rapper and fashion mogul formerly known as Kanye West, ignited a firestorm of criticism over the weekend after posting a series of controversial messages on X (formerly Twitter). In the posts, he appeared to boast about engaging in sexual relations with women employed by him.

On Sunday (May 4), West wrote, “That employee pussy hits different.” The comment, made without further clarification, has drawn widespread condemnation online, with many interpreting the post as an admission of sexual relationships with female staff members.

West did not specify whether he was referring to current or former employees or those employed under his associates.

In a separate post, West doubled down on his views about relationships with women, dismissing the idea of platonic female friendships entirely.

“If a bi**h don’t let me smash we not friends,” he wrote, prompting backlash for its overtly misogynistic tone. Critics pointed to a pattern in West’s language and behavior that they say reflects a broader issue of gender disrespect and abuse of power.

These posts come amid serious legal allegations levied against West earlier this year. In 2024, Lauren Pisciotta, a former employee of West, filed a lawsuit accusing him of drugging and sexually assaulting her during a studio party in Santa Monica.

According to the suit, the alleged incident occurred in the presence of embattled music executive Sean “Diddy” Combs, although Combs is not named as a defendant and is not accused of wrongdoing in the matter.

Pisciotta claims that drinks were distributed to guests with the stipulation that “everybody had to drink, if they wanted to stay.” She alleges that Ye handed her a drink poured by his assistant, after which she became disoriented and woke up the next day with “no memory or recollection of that night” and “immense shame and embarrassment.”

According to the suit, when Pisciotta confronted West about the night’s events, he responded by saying the two had “kind of hooked up.” The filing further alleges that he dismissed her concerns by replying, “Women love to say they don’t remember.”

The posts and lawsuit have reignited debates around workplace power dynamics, consent, and the conduct of high-profile figures in the entertainment industry.

Legal proceedings related to Pisciotta’s claims are ongoing, and representatives for West have not publicly commented on either the lawsuit or his recent social media remarks.
