Nelly and Ashanti are reminding fans that Black love is alive and well.
In a recent video, the rapper was seen serenading his loving wife with her own 2001 classic jam, “Always On Time.” Complete with overzealous ad-libs and him freestyling over Ja Rule’s verse, the songbird erupted in laughter throughout the entire video.
Fans ate the adorable moment right on up as they flooded the comment section of the repost. “That man ain’t never been happier. Love this for them both,” one user wrote. Another replied, “Chile they both ain’t stop smiling since they reconnected.” Someone else chimed in, “Listen! Circling the block don’t work for everybody (because I would NEVER!) I’m glad it did for them, love this.”
The serenade came days Nelly after shared footage of them in bed being playful as she pumped milk for their son. Ashanti attempted to get him to put his phone down as she was seen in rare form, but he was adamant about admiring her natural beauty.
“My wife is pumping boob juice for KK,” Nelly joked, referring to their son, Kareem Kenkaide.
He even addressed haters who tried to say that he rocked a hair piece or dyed his hair. “Ain’t no grey or hair dye in this […] They said yo man got a hair piece,” he quipped as she covered his mouth and hide behind the covers.
Elsewhere in the video, the 50-year-old teased at the idea of having a second child with Ashanti while she yelled at him to hang up the phone. Back in February, the singer made it known that she wanted to try for a little girl.
“We’re going to add some more,” she told E! News. “Definitely a girl to balance it out. I’m outnumbered in the house right now. So, a girl would be great.” Watch the full video above.
