Brittany Renner can’t get enough of her “husband,” Kevin Gates.
In celebration of the season 12 premiere of Basketball Wives, the 33-year-old reality star opened up about converting to Islam and how supportive her man has been.
“Islam has made my life better in every single category. And like my husband says, the closer you get to God, the more you get. And literally in every category of my life. I mean, dreams happen. Miracles happen once in a while every day,” she exclaimed to PEOPLE while flashing the diamond ring on her finger. “It is been really beautiful. It’s changed my life. It’s for the better.”
Renner later gushed about when she knew Gates was “the one,” confessing, “His name echoes in every chamber of my heart.”
She added, “It’s hard to describe a love like that. All I can say is, is that I’m with the person that I quite literally dreamed of and to be able to just wake up next to him and spend time with him, even to have him here behind me, it’s like so surreal. I’m like ‘Oh my God, I love him!’ He’s just the most beautiful person inside and out that I’ve ever met.”
The couple sparked engagement rumors at the event despite Renner first calling Gates her “husband” on Instagram. Gates didn’t confirm if they were married, but Renner told PEOPLE that their top priority is being present.
“I think that’s where people get a little lost,” she admitted. “Like, we gotta stay present and I feel like when we get too far ahead, we don’t live in the now and have fun in the now and pour in each other into each other in the now. The little things really add up. So the future? It’s no concern of mine.”
