Fat Joe gave Kendrick Lamar high praise for his dominant year in a conversation with Jadakiss. Speaking on the premiere episode of their new collaborative Joe & Jada podcast, the two rappers reflected on the year since Kendrick Lamar and Drake’s rap feud erupted.

“One year since the Kendrick and Drake discrepancy. What they like to call it ‘beef’ in the media world, since we in media now,” exclaimed Jadakiss. “Personally, I thought it was about four or five months ago. I can’t believe it’s already been a year.”

“How is it a year?” Fat Joe responded. “But what I can tell you is, boy, that Kendrick Lamar gets some spins on LA radio.” Jada assured that all Los Angeles artists get spins in their hometown, however, Fat Joe had more to say about the Grammy-winner’s dominance.

“I was there last week… I’ve never seen nothing like this,” Fat Joe continued to elaborate. “Every single song, ‘Turn the TV off…’ Kendrick Lamar gets played nine out of every 10 songs in L.A. right now. Not even Snoop Dogg, not even Tupac Shakur — nobody from L.A. has dominated the paint like this guy… this last year. If you’re from L.A., you work at Target, Amazon, you delivering some sh*t… you thinking there’s one man breathing in Hip-Hop. It’s called Kendrick Lamar. I’m just keeping it a buck with you.”

Jadakiss agreed, “He had a helluva year.”

The two East Coast Hip-Hop vets launched Joe & Jada to provide commentary on music, sports, and culture. Joe & Jada promises two weekly episodes and is presented by Boost Mobile and produced by The Volume and Roc Nation.

“My brother Jadakiss and I will be delivering a podcast experience like none other,” Fat Joe said. “We’re both passionate and opinionated about music, sports, entertainment, and culture, so you can definitely expect to get unfiltered analysis, versatile interviews, and untold stories. We’re coming to shake up the podcast game and set a new blueprint.”

“I’m looking forward to teaming up with Joe on this podcast and showing another side of my personality,” added Jadakiss. “We’ve been friends for a long time, so we have the right chemistry and foundation to make this a really special show. Everyone is finally going to get to hear what we debate and discuss all the time behind the scenes.”
