Sean “Diddy” Combs’ sex trafficking trial is underway, and a key witness who is testifying to his alleged pattern of behavior is Cassie Ventura, his ex-girlfriend. Today (May 14), the singer spoke about an alleged incident that occurred the night before the pair was preparing to leave for their appearance at Drake’s OVO Fest.
In 2013, the “Me & U” artist was set to appear at the Canadian music event, and the Bad Boy founder was expecting to be brought out as a guest during Drake’s performance. Prior to traveling, after Cassie’s bags were packed, Combs allegedly forced his way into her Los Angeles apartment and physically abused her, which “resulted in a brutal eye injury that required stitches from a plastic surgeon,” per Variety. She still went but concealed her eye injury by styling her hair over it.
“When he threw me down, I cut my eyebrows on the corner of my bed,” she said. At the time, she texted Diddy a photo of her injury and wrote, “So you can remember.” This text was shown in court.
Another text Cassie sent to the 55-year-old media mogul (at a different time) compared him to Ike Turner, who infamously abused his wife and rock music icon, Tina Turner, for many years. NBC News reports Cassie read the message, “You treat me like Ike Turner,” out loud. She went on, “He was abusive and controlling, he was physically abusive, he put me down a lot as much as I would be built up, the sheer embarrassment, how he treated me in front of other people.”
NBC also noted Cassie appeared “more composed” and “less outwardly emotional” on the stand today in comparison to yesterday (May 13).

The mother of two also spoke about how the “freak-offs” led to urinary tract infections, mouth sores, and gastrointestinal issues. She claims Diddy would threaten to release the footage he took of the sessions to the public if she did not comply to his demands.
“He played them for me on one of his laptops. He said he’d release them,” Ventura said in court. When asked how that made her feel, she replied, “Trapped.”
