While back on the witness stand on Thursday (May 15), Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura was cross-examined where she was asked to read aloud graphic text messages between her and Sean “Diddy” Combs. The messages appeared to show her enthusiastically participating in “freak-offs,” which she previously testified she “hated doing.”

As the defense continued to try and convince the jury that Cassie and Diddy’s sexual relationship was consensual and not criminal, she was asked to read text threads including a response to Diddy in August 2009 where she admitted, “I’m always ready to freak off” and “I just want it to be uncontrollable.”

Defense attorney Anna Estevao read Diddy’s lines while Cassie read her own.

Despite the intimate nature of the messages, Cassie pushed back, reminding the court, “There’s a lot we skipped over.” She also acknowledged the emotional complexity of the relationship, saying, “I had fallen in love with him and cared about him very much.” But the love story quickly turned into a nightmare, according to her testimony.

Earlier in the week, Cassie told jurors about “hundreds” of encounters with male sex workers that left her emotionally and physically drained. She said Diddy insisted on watching and orchestrating the scenes, calling the freak-offs a form of voyeurism where “he was controlling the whole situation.”

The encounters, she explained, were held in dark hotel rooms and often were followed by the need for IV fluids to recover. When asked if she thought the freak-offs were part of a swingers lifestyle, Cassie replied, “In a sexual way,” but clarified, “They’re very different.”

The mother of two also spoke about how the “freak-offs” often led to urinary tract infections, mouth sores, and gastrointestinal issues.

She claims Diddy would threaten to release the footage he took of the sessions to the public if she did not comply to his demands. “He played them for me on one of his laptops. He said he’d release them,” Ventura said in court. When asked how that made her feel, she replied, “Trapped.”

Combs, 55, has remained behind bars since September and faces a minimum of 15 years to life if convicted. He has maintained his innocence.
