Rod Wave has been arrested after allegedly being found with a gun, which he is accused of aiming at another person during an altercation in Georgia.
The chart-topping rapper, known for blending soulful melodies with raw storytelling, was arrested on Tuesday (May 20) and booked into Fulton County Jail on several charges, including aggravated assault and possession of a firearm.
The arrest stems from an alleged altercation that took place on April 21.
According to Billboard, the 25-year-old artist, whose real name is Rodarius Green, is facing 12 additional charges.
These include aiming a firearm at another person, reckless conduct, criminal damage to property, obstruction of law enforcement, evidence tampering, conspiracy to commit a felony, and simple assault. Despite the gravity of the accusations, Green was released the same day after posting a $50,000 bond.
Green’s legal team is firmly denying the allegations. “There is no truth to these charges,” Green’s attorney Drew Findling told Billboard.

“Rod Green was a victim of a burglary and committed no crimes. How he was even charged as a result of this situation is incomprehensible. This will absolutely be resolved favorably to Mr. Green.”
This isn’t Green’s first legal run-in involving firearms. In April 2024, he was arrested in Manatee County, Florida, for alleged illegal possession of a weapon or ammunition. However, that case was quickly dropped after authorities determined he had been “detained based on inaccurate information.”
As fans await more details, Green’s team remains confident that the current charges will be dropped and his name cleared.
