Ms. Lauryn Hill celebrated her 50th birthday with close friends and family, to her surprise. On Monday (May 26), the Grammy-winner was gifted a star-studded affair, hosted at FlyFish Club, featured music, dancing, and Crown Royal Deluxe cocktails, including the brand’s rarest variant, Crown Royal 31 Year Old.
Guests included Rapsody, Dave Chappelle, Rah Digga, and more. A clip shared to social media by photographer Walik Goshorn highlighted the toast made by comedian Chappelle.
“You have no idea how hard it is to be 50 years old and beautiful,” exclaimed Chappelle to welcomed cheers from partygoers.
“We went through all of it. Survived it, and here we are tonight, your friends, your family and your colleagues, and your peers. I flew to New York just for this…I would not have missed this for the world. I love you. Happy 50th birthday.”
In her fifth decade, the acclaimed musician is not to be counted out. Earlier this year, Ms. Lauryn Hill made her Met Gala debut wearing an eye-catching, yellow, double-breasted suit and a classic Hermès Kelly bag. She also took the stage at the 2025 Jazz In The Gardens festival and solidified her legacy by welcoming Doechii, who won this year’s Grammy award for Best Rap Album, which Hill became the first woman to win in 1997.
