Halle Berry and boyfriend Van Hunt could be tying the knot soon. In an interview with TODAY, the couple revealed that they have had conversations about marriage; however, they are in no rush to head down the aisle.
“So I put out the proposal, and it’s still on hold as you can see,” detailed Hunt. “It’s just out there floating. You know, maybe you can encourage her.”
“Well, I’ve been married three times. Van has been married once, and so no, we don’t feel like we have to get married to validate our love in any way. We don’t,” Berry elaborated.
But I think we will get married just because, out of the people I’ve been married to, this is the person I should have married,” Berry added. “And I feel like I should, we should get married, but it’s not because we feel like we have to. I think it’s something that we would like to do just because we want that expression.”
The confirmation followed Hunt and Berry’s side-by-side appearance on TODAY with Jenna & Friends for their first joint interview. In the conversation, the actress addressed the critics of her Mother’s Day social media post, which featured her and her man nestled in bed and promoting Let’s Spin lubricant.
“Other women got in their feelings,” detailed the 58-year-old.
“They were saying, ‘Should she be talking about that on Mother’s Day? Shouldn’t she be with her kids somewhere?’” Berry continued. “First of all, it’s not ‘Kid’s Day.’ It’s called Mother’s Day. It’s Kid’s Day every day of the year. That’s my day. If I want to be in bed and spin with my man, then that’s what I’m going to do.”

As explained to host Jenna Bush Hager, the acclaimed actress and her beau met through his brother during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Berry has one daughter, Nahla, 17, with ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry, and a son, Maceo, 11, with ex-husband Oliver Martinez. She and Martinez were married from 2013 to 2016. Before that, Berry was married to singer Eric Benét from 2001 to 2005, and baseball player David Justice from 1993-1997. Hunt has one son from a previous relationship.

During the interview with TODAY, the movie star did confirm she does plan to say “I do,” and “soon,” despite the delay to say yes to the proposal.
“I think everybody’s been really happy, at least for me personally, people have been like, ‘You finally found … !’ I’ve always wanted what we have,” Berry exclaimed. “I always saw myself in a committed, loving relationship with like my best friend, someone that I respect and I love.”
