Kanye West has stepped into the public feud between Elon Musk and Donald Trump, asking the two to call a truce.
Ye‘s intervention comes after the billionaire and POTUS — who once had a friendly alliance — spent the past week trading jabs on the platforms they each own. Taking to X, Ye called out his friends pleading with them to stop the online madness.
“Broooos please nooooo,” he wrote, adding a hugging emoji and the plea. “We love you both so much.”
It all began when Trump told reporters in the Oval Office, “Elon and I had a great relationship. I don’t know if we will anymore,” adding he was “very disappointed” in the tech mogul.
Musk wasted no time firing back online. “Without me, Trump would have lost the election, Dems would control the House and the Republicans would be 51-49 in the Senate,” he claimed. He then followed up with: “Time to drop the really big bomb: Donald Trump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!”
“Mark this post for future. The truth will come out,” he added.
The drama seemingly stems from Trump’s new domestic policy bill. Musk slammed it as a “disgusting abomination” because he thinks it’ll add too much national debt. But Trump says the Tesla owner is just upset that the bill removes a tax break for electric cars. The bill already passed in the House and is now being looked at by the Senate.
“He knew every aspect of this bill. He knew it better than almost anybody, and he never had a problem until right after he left,” Trump said of Musk. “I’m sure that [personal attacks will] be next. But I’m very disappointed in Elon. I’ve helped Elon a lot.”
Ye’s public mediation of the two’s feud isn’t surprising given his history with both men. He has long backed Trump, famously praising him after the commutation of Larry Hoover’s sentence and declaring on X, “F**k anybody who don’t love Trump. You’re dumb.” He’s also been vocal about his admiration for Musk, frequently using X as his preferred sound-off platform.
Ye was one of Trump’s biggest celebrity supporters as Musk was one of his biggest donors during the 2024 election. Because of the latter, Musk received a top government job leading the Department of Government Efficiency — but he quit earlier this year.
