Teyana Taylor and Aaron Pierre have hard-launched their rumored relationship, sealed with a kiss.
After months of speculation, the “Gonna Love Me” singer and Mufasa actor have confirmed what fans have speculated for a while now: they’re an item. The confirmation came wrapped in a smooch as Taylor surprised Pierre with an intimate dinner for his 31st birthday.
Via one of the attendee’s Instagram Stories, the Hollywood actor could be seen walking into a private room where he was surprised by family and friends. Immediately he turned to kiss Taylor, who apparently put it all together. “My bestie did her BIG ONE for her man. her man. her man! I just love you guys like…” the person captioned the moment. “look at the smiles. the surprise. the FaceTime calls of her planning it downnnnn. love love love.”

Taylor also celebrated her man’s life milestone on her own Instagram account with a two photos of them – one of which showed them gazing into each other’s eyes.
“Cheers to Thirty-WON & many more wins around the sun. H”AP”PY BIRTHDAY Woody,” she captioned the carousel of photos.
In response, Pierre commented, “Now and Always. Thank you Tey [red rose emoji]”
Back in February, the two sparked romance speculations when they were spotted sitting close to one another at the American Black Film Festival Honors, where Pierre was recognized with the Rising Star Award. Cameras caught them deep in conversation, sparking early whispers of a brewing love. A month later, they were spotted together at the Oscars.
Just one day after the 2025 Academy Awards and Vanity Fair after-party, Taylor hit Instagram with a series of sleek, monochrome portraits featuring herself and Pierre, captioned, “Oscar night in black & white, no grey area. ?” She also added the sultry soundtrack — SZA’s “Take You Down.”
Pierre, keeping it mysterious, reposted the same images on his own page with no caption.
The romance follows Taylor’s public divorce from former NBA star Iman Shumpert, with whom she finalized her divorce in January 2023 after seven years of marriage. Despite the split, she’s been vocal about maintaining a solid co-parenting relationship with Shumpert for their two daughters, Junie, 9, and Rue, 4.
“We are still the best of friends, great business partners and are one hell of a team when it comes to co-parenting our two beautiful children,” she wrote on Instagram at the time.
