Ray J Addresses “Super Disrespectful” Claim About Whitney Houston

Ray J defended himself against rumors that he had been involved in the death of Whitney Houston. Speaking with his fellow Love & Hip Hop franchise star Moneice Slaughter on Twitch, the R&B singer elaborated on the speculation that he was there when Houston tragically passed away.

“Like the Black vloggers and sh*t talking about it then they pull up the Whitney sh*t and try to put me walking out of the hotel, as if I could get in there. I wasn’t even in there. So, it’s like what are y’all talking about?”

He continued to confess, “I gotta literally come out and explain what it really was, which is super disrespectful to Whitney, but now it’s getting out of control. Now it’s like fam, I was not there.”

“I just ain’t never spoke on it out of respect, but it’s not okay. Like a ni**a wasn’t even there bro,” he responded after being assured by Slaughter that his family was aware of the truth.

I’ll let a story build cuz I dont gotta explain myself. But eventually, if shit gets too out of control and narratives are being created … I have to say something, even if you don’t want to. Because it’s like, yo, this shit’s crazy.” 

Earlier this year, Suge Knight accused Ray J of being involved in Houston’s death while speaking with The Art Of Dialogue podcast.

“She just used the term that ‘Brandy’s little brother bringing me drugs and doing drugs with me,’” he claimed the singer said. “’Brandy’s little brother trying to kiss me and do drugs with me.’ Next thing you know, she’s dead.”

The vocalist was pronounced dead on Feb. 11, 2012, after she was found at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles. Her cause of death was determined to be an accidental drowning caused by “the effects of atherosclerotic heart disease and cocaine.” 

At the time, ABC News reported that Ray J made his way to the hotel after he learned of the news and was turned away.
