In a world increasingly connected by technology yet divided by culture, the union of Tanzanian music star Juma Jux and Nigerian fashion influencer Priscilla Ojo has become a refreshing symbol of unity.

Dubbed #JP2025, their wedding wasn’t just a glamorous affair—it was a joyful fusion of East and West African traditions, languages, and love stories. From Dar es Salaam to Lagos, their celebrations reflected not only their deep affection for each other but also a powerful message that when love speaks, even boarders listen.

Love can bridge cultures, connect families, and rewrite what modern African love looks like, which is exactly what we saw with #JP2025.

From Lagos to Dar es Salaam: A Love Story Across Borders

Juma Mussa Mkambala aka Jux is a Tanzanian superstar singer and songwriter known for his smooth Bongo Flava hits and dashing style, and Priscilla Ojo aka Priscy, fashion and lifestyle influencer and the elegant daughter of Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo, found love in the most hopeless way.

When their relationship went public in 2024, many were stunned, and it slowly turned into intrigue, but not just by their chemistry but by what their love represented: East meets West, Tanzania meets Nigeria, Swahili meets Yoruba.

The Nikkah Ceremony in Tanzania

Juma and Priscy’s love story was very glamorous. It was intentional, thoughtful, and deeply rooted in honouring both of their cultural identities.

The first lap of their wedding festivities commenced with a Nikkah ceremony held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, on February 7, 2025. This Islamic wedding was a blend of elegance and tradition. Priscilla dazzled in a golden gown with intricate embroidery, complemented by a stylish turban, while Juma looked regal in a traditional white Jalabia. The ceremony was attended by close family and friends, including notable figures like Diamond Platnumz and Zuchu .

Embracing Yoruba Traditions in Lagos

Following the Tanzanian ceremony, the couple honoured Priscilla’s Nigerian heritage with a traditional Yoruba wedding in Lagos. Held at the luxurious Five Palms in Oniru, the event was a vibrant display of Nigerian culture.

The couple donned matching royal purple traditional attire, exuding elegance and unity. Priscilla’s mother, Iyabo Ojo, was visibly emotional, offering heartfelt prayers and blessings to the newlyweds .

A Civil Union and a Second Proposal

Not stopping at traditional ceremonies, Juma and Priscilla also held a civil wedding in Lagos. Priscilla was radiant in a one-shoulder white dress adorned with pearls, while Juma looked dapper in a classic black suit.

In a romantic twist, Juma surprised Priscilla with a second proposal during an intimate dinner, presenting her with a stunning 5.2-carat diamond ring, reaffirming his commitment to their love .

A Fusion of Cultures

The JP2025 celebrations were a harmonious blend of Tanzanian and Nigerian cultures. From the music to the cuisine, every detail reflected their diverse backgrounds.

Guests enjoyed a mix of Afrobeats and Bongo Flava, while the menu featured delicacies from both countries according to numerous videos seen online. The couple’s attire also showcased this fusion, with Priscilla embracing Tanzanian styles and Juma adorning Yoruba traditional wear during various events.

A Love Story That Inspires

Juma and Priscilla’s wedding was more than just a union of two individuals; it was a celebration of love transcending cultural boundaries. Their story has inspired many, showcasing the beauty of embracing and respecting each other’s traditions. As they embark on this new chapter, their love story continues to resonate with fans across Africa and beyond.
