A$AP Rocky Talks Possibly Directing, Co-Starring In Film With Rihanna

A$AP Rocky and Rihanna may take their talents to the big screen together one day. The rapper recently shared with Variety that he has a film project in mind for him and his superstar beau, expressing excitement about the prospect of working alongside the mother of his children.

“You saw [Rihanna] acting in my film [music video] ‘D.M.B.’ and in my 2013 music video ‘Fashion Killa,’” he said, hinting at their on-screen chemistry. While he kept any details under wraps — such as the genre — the Harlemite teased that he would “more than likely” direct whatever future movie they decide to do.

Although he kept specifics about the latter to himself, he did, however, touch on his own upcoming film Highest To Lowest, where he will star alongside the legendary Denzel Washington. Reflecting on his approach to acting, Rocky emphasized the importance of integrity in any craft. “Nah, I was born for this. I’m not gonna waste nobody’s time,” he explained, asserting that giving his all in every project — whether it’s an album, a film, or design — is a must. He added that without integrity, success is elusive: “When you cheat yourself in life, you never win in the end.”

When asked about working with Denzel, Rocky couldn’t hide his excitement. “It was like a f**king dream come true,” he beamed. “But trust me, it was difficult to not fan the f**k out every millisecond of the f**king duration. It was crazy — it’s f**king Denzel, man.” Despite his own success, he humbly admitted that he will always be a fan of those he admires and strives to give them their flowers, no matter how big his own career gets.

Aside from film news — which includes Rihanna acting in the all-new Smurfs — the Anti singer recently confirmed that the couple is expanding their family at the 2025 Met Gala on Monday (May 5). The stunning soon-to-be-mom-of-three debuted her baby bump while wearing a custom Marc Jacobs ensemble on the blue carpet.

Meanwhile, Rocky, who co-chaired the event, looked sharp in a custom suit from his imprint, AWGE, paired with a black parka and diamond-encrusted umbrella. To add to the look, he also sported his latest custom frames from his partnership with Ray-Ban.
