Amber Rose recently appeared on NewsNation’s CUOMO with Chris Cuomo, where she openly defended Tory Lanez, who is serving a 10-years for assault with a semi-automatic firearm, possession of a concealed, unregistered firearm, and discharging a firearm with gross negligence.
According to Rose, however, there’s more to the 2020 shooting case of Megan Thee Stallion — especially when it comes to Lanez’s infamous apology to Kelsey Harris. After a personal phone call with him from prison, Rose says she “now understands” the real reason behind the message, and it’s not what the public has been led to believe.
“I heard the whole story from Tory’s mouth. He called me personally from prison,” she claimed, adding that what he was apologizing for wasn’t what the media and the masses have assumed. “I now understand why he said sorry, and it’s not for any shooting at all.” Without sharing any further details, she left the door open for Lanez to tell the full story himself, when he can. “I’ll let him tell that story when he comes home, but the sorry was not for what people think it was for,” she declared.
The apology in question reportedly hears him tell Harris: “I know she’s [Megan] probably never ever going to talk to me again, but I just want you to know, bruh, I was just so fu**ing drunk. I didn’t even know what the f**k was going on, bro. I would never do some sh*t like that. I was just so fu**ing drunk, I didn’t even understand what the f**k was going on. Regardless, that’s not gonna make anything right.”
“I’m deeply sorry. I never even move like that, bro. I never move like that at all. For real, for real,” he added. “I feel crazy, but what happened happened already, I can’t take it back. I’m just telling y’all, I’m sorry, bruh. I was just too drunk bruh. If anything, the only ni**a that’s gonna get this backlash is me. It’s not gon’ be her. Regardless if I get out of here today or not, I just want to let y’all know, bro, I’m sorry… I never would have did that sh*t if I wasn’t that drunk.”

Amber’s comments come after Lanez’s legal support brought forth a new testimony from Harris’ former bodyguard, in attempt to “prove his innocence.” Unite The People held a press conference in Los Angeles on May 14 where they shared the testimony of Bradley James, who served as Harris’ bodyguard during Peterson’s trial in 2022.
James — who didn’t testify in court or speak at the press conference — allegedly recounted a conversation he overheard between Harris and her husband where she admitted to being the one who pulled the trigger, not the 31-year-old star.
“[Harris] had the gun. [Harris] fired it [at Megan] three times. Mr. Peterson grabbed her arm and knocked it down, and the gun fired two more times. In essence, Mr. Peterson never shot anybody. Never even touched that gun. He never even fired the gun,” attorney Walter Roberts said. “This statement aligns with the statement of the only non-party witness to the case, Mr. Sean Kelly, who at trial testified he saw two women fighting, two men break up the fight, one man grab the other one’s arm, gunshots came from the passenger side.”
Megan, however, rejected their narrative.
“At what point are y’all gonna stop making me have to relive being shot BY TORY?” the Houston rapper asked in a lengthy post. “At what point are Tory and y’all fans gonna stop lying? Like how much is the check to keep harassing me? Why is this happening EVERY DAY? One minute him/y’all said I was never shot — now y’all letting him play in y’all face again and say I was shot but it wasn’t him? Oh okay…?!”
She then reminded everyone that Lanez, real name Daystar Peterson, didn’t take the stand during the trial. “HE AIN’T DARE GET ON THAT STAND AND DENY HE SHOT ME AND THAT WAS HIS CHOICE BECAUSE HE KNOWS HE DID THAT SH*T! WHY IN TF WOULD ME … MEGAN THEE STALLION HAVE TO LIE ON THE MF ABT SHOOTING ME! How ya’ll mad at the person that got shot????”
And as for the “new evidence,” Megan shut the narrative down with a quickness. “FACTS ARE FACTS, he did it, it was PROVEN IN COURT! TORY YOU SHOT ME!! Ain’t no new f**king evidence — y’all been saying the same sh*t for years.” She ended her IG Story by calling the Chixtape rapper a “f**king demon.”
Amber Rose has publicly advocated for the Chixtape singer/rapper’s release, calling on California Governor Gavin Newsom to issue a pardon. “He’s one hundred percent exonerated from the gun,” she emphasized, referring to forensic evidence determined during his 2022 trial. “And for that alone, he should be home with his family.”
