Amina Buddafly’s recent reveal that she and her two daughters are currently “homeless, sparked a wave of concern across social media. Following the announcement, their father, Peter Gunz, took to his Instagram Story to share his response after many assumed he didn’t offer assistance.
The Love & Hip-Hop alum acknowledged that he usually prefers to keep his private matters off the internet, especially when it involves his kids. Still, he felt compelled to respond after Amina’s TikTok update went viral.
Gunz claimed that her decision to relocate to Germany wasn’t forced — it was solely voluntary, and made so she could lean on her family overseas. He admitted he had reservations about her leaving the U.S. with their two daughters, mainly because he was concerned about how easily she’d be able to return with I.C.E. shakedowns everywhere.

The former rapper went on to say that he offered Amina and the girls a rent-free place to stay in Dallas, but she declined. “I have an apartment in Dallas. I said, ‘Amina, just go stay in Dallas.’ [She said] ‘What am I going to do in Dallas?’ Live rent-free? Swim? Chill for a little bit,” he said, noting the pressure he’s already under trying to pay for his multiple properties.
He also addressed the viral label of “homeless,” stressing that while things might be challenging for her, he has remained consistent in providing financial support. “I send Amina thousands every month,” he claimed. “Whatever she asks … It’s just that she wasn’t able to hold her side of sh*t up.” He added that he offered her a round-trip flight to Germany and even lined up an Airbnb in Los Angeles that he was prepared to pay for in advance.
Feeling blindsided, the 56-year-old expressed frustration over the public reveal, saying, “Why tell the world? I feel a little betrayed, in a way, because she knows I would never, that could never be me.”
Following his response, Amins made a video backing Gunz and sharing that he has “stepped up” and “held down” their family in her trying time. She also clarified that her intention of her video was never to “bash” him or have him disrespected by social media.
“I would have been in this situation a year ago had it not been for him,” she said. “Shout out to Peter.”
Amina made her revelation via TikTok video on Tuesday (June 24), where she explained that she had relocated to her hometown. “Day one of waking up in Germany after losing our home in LA,” she said in the video. “Me and my kids moved out of our place, put our stuff in storage or most of it in the trash… We don’t have a home, y’all.”
The 42-year-old explained that she and her children are now staying with family while she figures out a plan and works to rebuild. “Thank God for family,” she added. “We’re going to be here ’til I figure it out. Because I will, as I always do.” The singer and former Love & Hip-Hop star said she parted with the majority of her belongings before leaving the country. “I threw my whole life in the trash. 80 percent of what we owned, and I didn’t own anything valuable anyway to begin with,” she said. “It feels very good to not have much, but have what’s important, which is love.”
