Amina Buddafly has revealed that she and her two daughters with Peter Gunz are currently without a permanent home after losing their residence in Los Angeles. The former Love & Hip Hop: New York cast member shared the news in a candid TikTok video posted Tuesday (June 24), explaining that she has since relocated to Hamburg, Germany — her hometown.
“Day one of waking up in Germany after losing our home in LA,” she said in the video while laying down. “Me and my kids moved out of our place, put our stuff in storage or most of it in the trash… We don’t have a home, y’all.” The 42-year-old said she and her children are now staying with family while she figures out a plan and works to rebuild. “Thank God for family,” she added. “We’re going to be here ’til I figure it out. Because I will, as I always do.”
The singer and former reality star said she parted with the majority of her belongings before leaving the country. “I threw my whole life in the trash. 80 percent of what we owned, and I didn’t own anything valuable anyway to begin with,” she said. “It feels very good to not have much, but have what’s important, which is love.”
Though Amina has stayed off TV in recent years, she made a brief return to the Love & Hip Hop franchise with its reunion specials: Love & Hip Hop Awards: Most Certified and 40 Greatest Love & Hip Hop Moments: The Reboot. Now in Germany, she says her focus is on moving forward with purpose. “I only want what’s valuable to me,” she said. “Stay tuned for what’s next.”
Peter Gunz caught wind of her video and promised that a Live session was coming today at 1PM (June 25) to explain his stance on her current homelessness.
“Really thought we gave the world enough of our private life however the show must go on and this must be addressed. Please join me on my live at 1PM eastern,” he wrote on Instagram.
Six days before sharing her life update about losing her home, Amina appeared in a now-viral TikTok alongside Gunz. In the clip, she’s seen asking a question that seemingly was about their past dynamic and prompted many to now wonder if he’s supporting her during this period of hardship.
In the clip, Amina poses a scenario that hit a little too close to home for longtime Love & Hip-Hop fans: “One guy is in love with two women — one he’s totally lying to one about everything and the other one he’s completely honest about everything. Which one of the two does he love?” The latter seemingly referenced his past love-triangle between Amina and his other children’s mother, Tara Wallace.
Gunz immediately responded, “Oh, he love both of them,” which caused Amina to laugh, knowingly.
Following the video, one user commented, “Amina u have to let him go seriously it’s getting ridiculous at this point. He loved Tara out loud and u in secret…”
In response, Amina said in another post, “Apparently when I post with my ex-husband I go viral. Y’all be taking sh*t so seriously. Ya’ll in ya’ll feelings, ya’ll think ya’ll know everything. I got gray hair. I was young when I was on Love & Hip-Hop. I’m 42 years old. This is 10 plus years ago. And you’re still on that?”
Explaining that the occasional content featuring her ex isn’t about rekindling anything — it’s about understanding the power of a platform, she added, “All I gotta do is make a video with my ex-husband and I’ll go viral on TikTok, which equals money.”
