Artisan Assistant (Bricklayer) vacancy at Rand Water
Job advert summary
To assist with the day to day work related to artisan bricklayer with construction of brickwork, building maintenance and general work preparation.
Minimum Requirements
- National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or N3 certificate in Bricklaying and Plastering / Civil Engineering
- 2 – 3 years relevant experience in the Bricklaying field
- Successful completion of a trade test (Bricklayer) would serve as an advantage
- Valid code B drivers license is a prerequisite
Primary Duties
- Assist artisan with bricklaying, plastering, tiling and concrete work to all buildings and structures on site and where required
- To prepare all equipment, material and tools delegated by the bricklayer
- Mixing of building material according to the Bricklayer’s instruction
- Delivery and collection of materials (loading and offloading) to and from place of work
- Erect scaffolding
- Cleaning of tools, equipment, workshop, stores, and site where work was performed
- To ensure that all equipment is used safely and according to standards of work as determined by the Bricklayer / Assistant Civil Foreman
- Carry out other tasks as delegated by the supervisor from time to time
