Ashabi Ayantunde, Nollywood actress passes on

Veteran Nollywood actress, Ashabi Ayantunde popularly known as Iya Ife has died.


Ashabi Ayantunde died in Ile Ife, Osun state on Sunday evening, April 11 after a brief illness.


She was said to have fallen ill and rushed to Ile-Ife, Osun State where she died.


Late Iya Ife featured in several films that include Oro Aye; Terror; Atidade Kinihun; Afefe, Onibara Aje, Olori, Old Soja and Ogbologbo.


The veteran actress has now joined the elongating list of Nigerian celebrities who have kicked the bucket.

Meanwhile, on Friday, veteran Nollywood actor, Bruno Iwuoha passed on.


Bruno Iwuoha died on Saturday, April 10 at the age of 68.


Bruno Iwuoha who battled with diabetes and blindness for years has given up the ghost.


His painful death was made known by close associates as well as filmmaker; Derik Zai who revealed that the actor died at the National Hospital, Abuja.


According to him, Chief Bruno has been in a coma for about 3 weeks; and everything done to stabilize him couldn’t bring him back to life. His remains have also been deposited at the hospital mortuary.


His family members are yet to announce his burial arrangements.


Bruno Iwuoha’s death is coming weeks after Nollywood lost veteran actor, Sadiq Daba.
