Baka Not Nice claimed he laid low in the beef between Drake and Kendrick Lamar at the Canadian rapper’s advisement.

As a guest on the Hot Freestyle’s Mic Check podcast, the 46-year-old claimed he was ready to respond after being name-dropped on the Grammy-winning “Not Like Us.” Ultimately, he decided not to get in the booth and record his own diss.

“My first initial thing was to respond and respond quickly, very efficiently and very to the point,” he exclaimed. “It started brewing in me because where I come from, that sh*t doesn’t happen. You can’t just call out a man and not have paperwork to back up your talks. It’s ludicrous.”

“And then to see a whole nation behind it and celebrating it like it’s a true story is unbelievable,” he continued. “Everybody has to understand — I have a kid, Drake has a kid, so, like, making accusations like that are ridiculous and out of this world.”

“I was building up a lot of anger but then I got a call,” the “Live Up To My Name” rapper also shared.

“And [Drake’s] like, ‘Yo, I know what you’re feeling, I know you as an individual, I know how you get down, but I’m just letting you know, don’t listen to the noise ’cause it’s noise. If you go back and look at all these people that are saying things, they’re not even real people, they’re bots. Don’t let that sh*t bother you, bro.’”

Baka Not Nice also explained that he felt as though the Compton rapper had labeled him a pedophile.

“I wanna say one thing to America,” he started. Y’all need to get yourself together because, yo, making serious accusations like that, you need to have paperwork. That is the No. 1 rule.”

Previously, Baka Not Nice compared “Not Like Us” to a pair of beat-up black Nike Air Force 1 tennis shoes on social media.

In the chart-topping diss record, Kendrick Lamar raps, “Baka got a weird case, why is he around?/ certified lover boy, certified pedophile.” The lyrics are made in reference to Baka Not Nice being sentenced to six months behind bars in 2015 for assaulting a woman during a domestic dispute.

According to the Toronto Sun, Baka Not Nice, real name Travis Savoury, pleaded guilty to assaulting a 22-year-old Toronto woman, as well as failing to comply with his recognizance conditions for unrelated Brampton firearms charges. He was initially arrested in June 2014 after being accused of procuring prostitution and human trafficking, however, those charges were dropped as the alleged victim refused to testify. In the past, he has been convicted of armed robbery, assault, discharging a firearm while committing a robbery, and possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Drake accused Universal Music Group of defamation, harassment, and spreading the “false and malicious narrative” that he is a pedophile in relation to “Not Like Us.”  In the lawsuit, the 38-year-old claimed UMG was aware that Lamar’s lyrics and images from the Grammy-winning record‘s music video were false and dangerous, but still continued to promote it for profit. The “Controlla” performer also accused the corporation of conspiring with Spotify to “falsely inflate streaming numbers” of “Not Like Us.”
